Amilessë

(Q. 'mother name')

One of the three names the Eldar had in Valinor, this one given by their mother. The amilessi were quite significant, because the Elven mothers had insight into the characters and abilities of their children, and many also had the gift of prophetic foresight. For example Fëanáro ('spirit of fire') was the Amilesse of Fëanor.
