Dwarves

One of the speaking races of Middle-earth and originally creatures of Aulë. They were short (usually less than 5 feet tall), strong and enduring and resistant to fire. Their lifespan was about 250years.

In Khuzdul, their own tongue, they called themselves Khazâd and they were called Naugrim (also Nogothrim or Gonnhirrim) by the Elves.
