Formenos

'Northern Fortress', the stronghold of Fëanor and his sons in the north of Valinor, built after the banishment of Fëanor from Tirion. It was here that Fëanor "shut the doors of his house in the face of the mightiest of all the dwellers in Eä" [Melkor], and here where Melkor exacted his revenge by the slaying of Finwë and the stealing of the Silmarils.
