Fornost

The chief city of Arthedain, and the seat of its Kings from Amlaith to Arvedui. Soon after the loss of the kingdom of Arthedain, the Battle of Fornost was fought there between Gondor and Angmar.

Thereafter the city existed only as ruins, and was known to the Men of Bree as Deadmen's Dike. Rangers often visited the site in reverence, but the Bree-landers thought it to be haunted.

It is not recorded if Fornost was rebuilt in the FourthAge.
