Lórien

Sind.: Dream-land

(1) aka the GoldenWood, the HiddenLand. It's original name was Laurelindórinan, later changed to Lothlórien.

Realm of Silvan Elves in the woods south-east of Moria, between Celebrant and Anduin, ruled by Galadriel and Celeborn, chief "city" was CarasGaladhon.

(2) The name of the gardens and dwelling-place of the Vala Irmo, who was sometimes given the same name.

Note that Olorin, the Maia of dreams and visions, was incarnated as Gandalf twice. The second time, an Eagle transported him to Lórien as he recovered.
