Lamps of the Valar

The two great globes, Illuin and Ormal, made by the Valar to light Arda in its spring. They were made by Aulë, filled with light by Varda, and hallowed by Manwë. They were placed atop great pillars of stone.

The lamps were destroyed by Melkor, which marked the end of the Spring of Arda.
