Elven-refuge in a steep and hidden valley of the river Bruinen on the western shoulders of the MistyMountains. It was founded in SeA 1697 by Elrond and the remnant of the Noldor after Eregion had been laid waste by Sauron.

The Sindarin name was Imladris, the name in genuine Westron Karningul
