Aldburg

OE: 'old fortress'

Place in the Folde of Rohan, which Eorl biult and had his dwelling. After he moved to Edoras, Aldburg remained a noble abode. At the time of the WotR, it was the dwelling-place of Eomer, as 3rd Marshal fo the Mark, and the base for the Muster of the East-Mark.

Aldburg might have been a town or keep of some kind, though probably not as large or strong as Edoras or the Hornburg.
