Land in Eriador, between the rivers Glanduin and Bruinen, west of the MistyMountains in the woodland below the Dwarf-kingdom of Khazad-dûm. It was settled in the SecondAge (~SeA 750) by the Gwaith-i-Mírdain. Chief city was Ost-in-Edhil.

The city and the realm were entirely destroyed by SeA c.1695 during the War of the Elves and Sauron, after the forging of the Rings of Power.
