One of the most important mountain chains in Middle-earth, running in a north-south direction about 900 miles from the NorthernWaste to the Gap of Rohan. The highest peaks were possibly as high as 3.600m (12.000ft) [AoMe]

Called Hithaeglir by the Elves.
