Neldoreth

The great beech-forest forming the northern part of Doriath, bounded east and south by the dark river Esgalduin, which bend westward in the midst of the land (-The Silmarillion); called Taur-na-Neldor? in Treebeard's song in The Two Towers. Here was Lúthien born to Melian and Thingol, and here Beren, escaping through Dungortheb, later came upon Lúthien.
