Northvegr, a site with great information and source material about Germanic/Nordic Mythology has kindly permitted us to quote freely from all the material on their site. According to their policy I have asked for permission - on behalf of the TolkienWiki - to quote from their translation of J.Grimm's Deutsche Mythologie (for the Mythology/Éarendel page) and have just got the following email in reply:

We would be happy for you to quote from our web site. Please feel free to quote from any text you would like. If there is any way we can be of assistance, please feel free to contact us any time. I have a book planned on the Norse/Germanic influences on Tolkien's work (which I am currently doing the research for), so we are very supportive of any efforts in helping to educate the general public in that regards.
