P˙kel Men

OE 'Goblin-men'

The name of the statues on the way from Edoras to Dunharrow, given by the Rohirrim. They were built by the {Men of the Mountains}? during the FirstAge. The statues represented the ancestors of the Dr˙edain who were persecuted by them, mistaken for Orcs.

The name contains the Old English word puk for goblin, also seen in the traditional name Puck.
