Description:

J.R.R Tolkien was one of the twentiest century's most profilic letter writers. Over the years he wrote a mass of letters - to his publishers, his family, to friends and to fans of his books - which record the history of composition of his works and his reaction to subsequent events. This collection will entertain anyone who appreciates the art of masterful letter writing and sheds much light on his creative genius and grand design for the creation of a a whole new world - Middle-earth.

Comments

Well, I have not much to add to this description, except that it can be considered a "commentary" to his Middle-earth related works in many ways. It shares Tolkien's point of view upon many things that are subject to speculation or interpretation in the books. A "must-have" for every serious Tolkien scholar and anyone interested to learn more about Tolkien. -- ChW
