Thrush

The Thrushes of Dale were known to speak with the Men of Dale.

The Old Thrush was watching over the Dwarves of Thorin's company as they were on the doorstep of the Side-door. He listened to Bilbo's account to the Dwarves of where Smaug had a bare spot over his heart.

The Old Thrush then gave this information to Bard, of the line of Girion of Dale, just as he was going to shoot his last arrow, the BlackArrow?, at Smaug.
