Amon Rūdh
(S. 'bald hill')
A lonely hill that stood south of Brethil, between TalathDirnen and Nivrim. It was bare of plantlife save of seregon, hence its name. The Noegyth Nibin had their halls there, and it was the house of Mīm the Petty-dwarf. It was for a year the base of Tśrin Turambar and his outlaws.
Now that hill stood upon the edge of the moorlands that rose between the vales of Sirion and Narog, and high above the stony heath it reared its crown; but its steep grey head was bare, save for the red seregon that mantled the stone. | The Silmarillion |
