Brief Description

J.R.R. Tolkien made several substantial emendations concerning the "SeeingStones" for the second edition of The Lord of the Rings. Those writings on the Palantíri, including informations about their history, appearance, function and effect, have been assembled into an essay and added to the Unfinished Tales by Christopher Tolkien.
